When I’m not practising my comedy routine on my long suffering husband, I’m head down in the weeds, crafting websites for and dishing business advice to other micro and small business owners.
Seeing your business succeed and flourish makes hours agonizing over just the right fonts and element spacing well worth pulling a little hair out.
As someone who knows what it’s like to try and juggle all the things, while feeling like you’re roller skating on an obstacle course, blindfolded, I understand the overwhelm of running a small business.
The struggle isn’t just real, it’s a pain in the ass. That’s why I love helping business owners like you tick off at least one thing from your very long list, by building you a damn good website.
My design background might be a little unconventional for a web designer. I studied goldsmithing and photography, with a deep fascination for historical design, especially Gothic cathedrals and Art Nouveau.
I’ve dabbled in printmaking, leatherworking, enamelling and etching metal, alternative photographic processes pursued by the slightly masochistic, surface pattern design and more.
My studio shelves are groaning under boxes of equipment and supplies, possibly never to escape their packaging. Like most creatives.
Having made myself many websites over the years, as well as sites for friends and groups I’ve been part of, pursuing web design as a career was the most logical business to start up, when looking for yet another job wasn’t on the table.
Being autistic (with a side of ADHD) means I’ve had a lot of jobs. On the plus side, it also means I’ve a lot of experience in a wide range of businesses, that I can use to showcase just what you do in yours, even if you’re not always quite sure how to express that.
